Ed Lake, DHS Director – Last year’s legislative appropriations was only for a 10 month period, so DHS was in need of a supplemental budget to assure services in Aging and DD would be available. The supplemental must be passed before the end of March in order to assure no gap in services for both of these programs.
The director also explained that the federal Medicaid match as gone down yet again. So the state will need to pay more to maintain the same amount of supports currently being provided.
Marie Moore, Interim DDS Director- Reported that there were about 75 Oklahomans who have moved to waiver with only 1/3 being for people not receiving through Child Welfare custody.
